Morris Album

Oakland native Hedley B. Morris, 195-P served in the US Navy in both World Wars, was a member of Gen. MacArthur’s staff in Tokyo, and eventually retired with the rank of Captain. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 1923 and worked for RCA at their Bolinas, CA and Kahuku, HI stations. He was Engineer-in-Charge at KPH. An avid photographer, he left the Society with many well-annotated photos which we’ll be displaying here.

The following photos show the Bolinas, California station belonging to Marconi Wireless from 1913-1920, and later RCA. Photos appear to be from ~ 1920.

The rare photos below were taken in Plymouth, England in December, 1918. They show a captured German U-boat as well as a US Navy submarine. Look for the interesting story behind these pix on our December “Featured” page.
