How to Find Items in the Society of Wireless Pioneers Archives
Digitized Records
It’s easy to search for Society records that have been scanned and posted to this website. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page, click on the black triangle with the “+” sign, type in your search term, and hit Enter. This kind of search will find keywords listed on our web pages, but not necessarily those found inside of files.
A few items have been scanned but not posted, and more information about all digitized items is available at the current scanned file index list: SOWP Document Inventory List 23May2024
Hardcopy Holdings
Items posted on this website, however, represent only a small percentage of the 40+ linear feet of Society records that CHRS currently holds. The Archives are not currently open to the public but in the interest of making these historical materials available to researchers and others who may be interested, you can request look ups, which we’ll do whenever possible. If you find something of interest, just send us a message using the links at the bottom of this page. How will you know if there’s anything of interest?
Each item in the archives has been sorted into one of 54 categories. Three of the categories, COMPANIES, NON-MEMBERS, and STATIONS have already been alphabetized and indexed. A fourth, MEMBERS, is in the works. You can now view the categories and lists online. If you find anything you’re interested in, just let us know by contacting us using the links at the bottom of the page.
Finally, although the hundreds of photographs in the SoWP archives have not yet been organized, you can view an index of SoWP large format negatives here: Large Format Neg Catalog
Happy searching!
